Styles in brief

March3

Traditional style

The balance in the relevant room feels like asymmetrical because none of the furniture is paired.

The emphasis of this traditional Dutch room seems oblique because the chest and the tall shelf unit are in contrast.

Rustic style

In this photo, a symmetrical balance can be seen in the dining room part of the interior where chairs of both side of the table are equal and lead to two windows. In the second part, the small living area, the asymmetrical balance is obvious.

Both tables and ceiling’s strong architectural element introduce horizontal emphasis in the relevant rustic interior.

Modern style

In this modern room the round table surrounded with armchairs suggests a radial balance.

The arrangement of the chairs here gives impression for oblique emphasis.

Narrow staircase. The special shape of the steps is not only space saving but reduces the use of timber.

A major problem when designing storages is the space needed for them. Mostly there is a little place left for a storage and turning it to well functioning storage, one needs creativity, to start with. Imagination, logic and new trends and technologies give the opportunity for a little hole, high ceiling, narrow space and similar to be designed as a storage space. The following pictures 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 depict examples of different solutions for a storage spaces.

Re-Cycle, a sustainable washing machine design

Based on the water preservation theme, ‘Future of Water,’ of the Whirlpool 2008 Contest, the Re-Cycle is a sustainable washing machine design that seems well equipped to tackle the water crisis looming large across the world. Designed to match modern residential apartments, the revolutionary washing machine comes with a three-in-one Laundry Center, including a washing machine, a dryer and filter with water tank. The water used for washing the clothes doesn’t go to waste, as an innovative mechanism deposits and recycles the used water in a separate tank that can be used for the next wash.
