Snog by Cinimod Studio
The installation features suspended glass globes with integrated RGB LEDs in each of them.
Cinimod’s design builds upon the brand identity created by ico Design and evolves the strong architectural vision created in the first store SNOG South Kensington, while introducing a different ‘quirk’ in the design: the bubbling ceiling. This lighting feature is comprised of 700 glass globes containing LED lights and presents a new level of visual excitement and public engagement. The effervescent ceiling is remarkable presentation of how powerful looking are many lights put together. This kind of setting would be appropriate not only for retail interiors but also in homes and almost any place. The reason is hidden behind the functionality and the diversity that can be achieved by assembling basic light globes. If a similar setting was made in a private dwelling it would not be necessary to cover the whole ceiling but to introduce small groups which can function as ambient lighting and have similar impact. Moreover the popularity of LED lights is buoyed by energy consumption that is a fraction of standard lights.
