When considering brickwork they are certain precautions that need to be taken into account before proceeding to implementation. Porosity, sandy surface, mortar joints, to name but few, are problem especially for kitchens. As we can see this is fairly good brickwork where a mistake has been made by missing to install a backsplash around the sink. Since the porosity (the porous nature) of the material may make it very susceptible to the moisture and oils of the cooking process, bricks must be replaced in the most aesthetic manner to avoid such damage. For instance, the cooking counter placed at reasonable distance from the walls is creative idea that protects bare bricks from oils during cooking.
