Lineatre classic bathroom furniture

This dramatic, classic bathroom idea from Lineatre has a winning theatrical flair. Indeed, the elegant drapes across the tubs and windows are elements one would normally expect to find in a living room. However the matching fabric of curtains and sofa used in unusual place like the relevant give the bathroom a look of another, more refined age.

Green Void by Lava

Green Void by Lava, Sydney’s Customs House

Green Void is a 20 metre-high fabric sculpture inspired by the relationship between man, nature and technology, the digital design takes up 3000 cubic metres with a surface area of just 300 square metres and made from only 40 kg of tensioned Lycra material. “We really wanted to see how far we could take the idea of creating more with less,” says one of the founders. The concept was achieved with a flexible material that follows the forces of gravity, tension and growth, similar to a spider web or a coral reef. This ambitious wall hanging is undoubtedly the most unusual one recently. Only very professional and experienced designers and technicians can achieve a project with that scope and complexity.

Sofas by Kenzo

Touareg by Kenzo Maison

Exotica by Kenzo Maison

Kenzo Maison (The house of Kenzo) is mostly known for its presence in haut couture stage but recently it makes very successful attempts in furniture design. The pictures present sofas called Exotica (the second) and Touarega (the first) which introduce more freedom into the upholstery fabrics with its origami floral prints. The snow-white main fabric enhances the brightly coloured motifs and both result in a sophisticated, merry and spontaneous design. Since the white colour is not a friend to the heavy use, the sofa is excellent “bijoux” for expensive mansions or jet-setter flats where it would bring a new dimensions of freshness.

Corian-Missoni exhibition

A stunning combination of patterns, colours and textures. Here, the feeling of softness and comfort coming from the cushioned furniture is enhanced by long-pile carpet. Despite the fact that long-pile carpets are more commonly used as smaller rugs, the relevant interior demonstrates how powerful the effect of coziness could be if the floor is fully covered with shag carpet. In addition the long pile is great for noise reduction thus a perfect match for a bedroom.

Why not concrete?

Creative Concrete Floor Patterns and Prints

Grey, uninviting, cold was the first impression that concrete provokes, but not anymore. With its simplicity, concrete turns out to be a vast field for exploring new techniques, thus new and exiting finishes would be possible. May be in a few years no one would remember the basic look of concrete a part of specialists. An example for a concrete performance is these genius floral design imprints providing a wonderful counterpoint to the cold surface on which they are impressed. Of course, with the technique all kinds of possibilities are opened up – geometric patterns, realistic floors capes and other approaches are all possible. Also, these can be functional and provide different textures and grips underfoot on what would otherwise be a smooth and sterile concrete floor surface. This is also just one of the features of the modernist Transparent House shown in the images above.
